Who We Are
Fat Rabbit is a Michelin Recommended restaurant and whole animal butcher shop in St. Catharines. We work closely with small ethical farms and practise zero waste butchery. Our space is relaxed and welcoming. Our standards are thoughtful and precise, shaped by how deeply we care about our guests, our product, and our team. We are hiring experienced Servers who genuinely love food, wine, and hospitality.
Role Overview
The Server reports to the Chef, Owner and management team. You are responsible for delivering a confident and attentive guest experience from greeting through payment, while upholding the standards of a serious food and beverage program.
You represent Fat Rabbit with accuracy, enthusiasm, and composure. You manage pacing intentionally and communicate closely with the kitchen to ensure each table moves comfortably and seamlessly through their experience.
Responsibilities
- Maintain thorough knowledge of food, wine, spirits, and beverage offerings
- Understand ingredients, preparation, allergens, and sourcing
- Confidently speak to our whole animal butchery program and different cuts of meat
- Promote menu items thoughtfully and contribute to overall sales through informed recommendations
- Flag inconsistencies in food, presentation, or modifiers before dishes reach guests
- Manage table rhythm and coordinate course timing with the kitchen
- Execute proper steps of service and responsible alcohol service
- Verify identification in accordance with Smart Serve
- Operate POS system accurately, including sales transactions and opening and closing procedures
- Keep restaurant and warehouse space stocked, merchandised, and clean
- Maintain washrooms so they are clean, fresh, and fully stocked

Health & Safety
- Work safely in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and related regulations
- Follow safe food and beverage handling and sanitation standards
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work extended shifts and remain on your feet for the majority of the day
- Regularly carry food and beverages in a fast paced environment
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfortable climbing a ladder to access stock when required
- Comfortable working indoor dining and outdoor patio service with exposure to heat, cold, sun, rain, and wind
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of serving experience required
- Valid Smart Serve certification required
- Strong food knowledge required
- Wine and spirits knowledge essential
- Professional presence and clear communication
- Composed and efficient under pressure
- Evening and weekend availability required
Position Details
Full Time and Part Time positions available. $18 per hour plus gratuities. Weekend availability required. Scheduling varies based on service volume.
