Who We Are
Fat Rabbit is a Michelin Recommended restaurant and whole animal butcher shop based in St. Catharines. We partner with small ethical farms and practise zero waste butchery. We operate in a detail driven environment where precision, consistency, and hospitality matter.
Role Overview
The Food Runner supports both kitchen and dining room, ensuring food is delivered accurately, efficiently, and in excellent condition. You protect presentation standards, confirm dishes before they leave the pass, and support the natural pace of service.
You will be expected to learn the menu thoroughly, including ingredients and allergens. Attention to detail is critical. You must be able to identify inconsistencies, missing components, or errors before food reaches our guests.
This role can be entry level for the right candidate who is serious about hospitality and willing to learn.
Team Expectations
Our front of house and back of house operate as one team. Communication and awareness are essential. You are a self starter who stays busy and looks for ways to contribute. During downtime, you complete side duties, cleaning, and restocking without being prompted. Reliability and punctuality are essential. We depend on each other.
Physical Requirements and Essential Duties
- Ability to work extended shifts, often on your feet for the majority of the day
- Comfortable carrying multiple plates in a busy dining room
- Able to navigate between kitchen and dining room efficiently
- Candidates must be able to perform the essential duties of this role, with or without reasonable accommodation
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver food from kitchen to guests in a timely and organized manner
- Confirm dishes match tickets and dietary modifiers
- Maintain strong allergen awareness and prevent cross contamination
- Support proper pacing of service
- Assist with clearing, resetting tables, and maintaining cleanliness
- Greet and acknowledge guests entering and leaving the dining room
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in service areas
Skills and Experience
- Customer service experience preferred but not required for the right candidate
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast paced environment
- Clear communicator
- Comfortable being on your feet for extended periods
- Able to carry multiple plates and navigate a busy dining room
- Available evenings and weekends

Position Details
This is a part time position. Pay rate is $17.60 per hour with gratuity participation. Shifts will vary based on service volume. Weekend availability, including Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, is required.
