Position Summary
Fat Rabbit is seeking a full-time Line Cook to join our restaurant kitchen team.
Reporting directly to Ownership and the Chef team, this role is responsible for maintaining a disciplined station, executing service with precision and urgency, and upholding the standards of the kitchen.
We work hard, we hold high standards, and we support one another. A strong team dynamic is essential to how we operate. Every plate leaving the pass must reflect consistency, intention, and care.
This is a scratch cooking environment with exposure to whole animal fabrication and disciplined kitchen systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain complete and organised mise en place at all times
- Execute dishes with accuracy, consistency, and speed during service
- Follow recipes, prep lists, and systems exactly as written
- Taste and adjust to maintain quality control throughout service
- Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient workstation
- Minimise waste and respect whole animal utilisation practices
- Support butchery, service, and prep production as required
- Communicate clearly and professionally with BOH and FOH
- Maintain composure and professionalism in an exposed kitchen environment
- Anticipate service needs and stay ahead of the board
- Close and reset your station properly for the following service
Health and Safety
- Comply with all provincial and municipal public health regulations
- Adhere to Ontario workplace health and safety legislation and internal safety protocols
- Practise proper food handling, storage, and temperature control procedures
- Maintain sanitation standards in accordance with public health requirements
- Use kitchen equipment safely and responsibly
- Report hazards, injuries, or unsafe conditions immediately
- Participate in required health and safety training as directed
Qualifications
- Previous line cook experience required
- Strong knife skills and foundational cooking technique
- Solid understanding of timing and station flow
- Extremely organised with a high standard of cleanliness and organisation
- Demonstrated discipline from order acceptance through service execution and full close down
- Ability to maintain focus and organisation across multiple workstations
- Ability to work cleanly and efficiently in a fast paced environment
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- High level of personal accountability and professionalism
- Ability to receive direct feedback and adjust quickly
- Consistent reliability and punctuality
- Respect for ingredients, producers, and brand ethos
- Availability for evenings and weekends required
- Commitment to continuous improvement and building stamina over time
You must bring focus, urgency, and the willingness to improve daily. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their station and understands that small details matter.
Team Expectations
Our front of house and back of house operate as one team. Communication, awareness, and professionalism are essential at all times.
You are a self-starter who stays engaged and looks for ways to contribute. During slower periods, you complete side duties, cleaning, and restocking without being prompted. Standards remain consistent regardless of pace.
Reliability and punctuality are critical. We depend on one another, and consistency builds trust across the team.

Compensation
$18 to $23 per hour based on experience
